Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Doctor M. Jason Hancey, MD is renowned for his exceptional skill, compassionate care, and unwavering dedication to his patiences. Education and Credentials
Dr. Hancey brings years of extensive training and experience to his practice. A Utah native, he graduated from Utah State University with a Presidential Scholarship. He attended Penn State Medical School where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national honor medical society.
He then matched into the highly competitive Penn State Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency. His training mentors were from South Africa, Brazil, Harvard, Penn, and included Donald Mackay, MD, DD – previous president of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and previous chair of the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Hancey understands that each patients’ needs and goals are unique. He takes the time to listen to his patients, thoroughly discussing their concerns, expectations, and desired outcomes. Most patients remember him finishing their consultation, then sitting down once more and asking, “Let’s review, did we miss anything?“ in an effort to make sure he and his patient are on the same page for their treatment plan.

His attention to detail is ever present. He was an Operation Smile Regan research fellow, volunteering his time with Operation Smile surgical missions. He has volunteered on multiple boards and committees, and he served as chair of the department of surgery providing leadership oversight for all surgical services. He currently serves as medical staff president, providing leadership and oversight for all physicians at his hospital.
Personal life
He loves to spend time laughing with his wife, Rosie, and their two daughters. He loves mountain biking with Rosie, and if you’d like a quick jump lesson on the bike, he’d be happy to oblige. He plays golf with his dad and brothers any chance he gets, and he loves spending time in the snow with his friends throughout the backcountry of Utah.
